Brown bear
Ursus arctos
The brown bear lives in forests, mountains, and vast natural areas across Europe, Asia, and North America. It is generally a solitary animal, although it may be seen with other bears in areas where food is abundant or during the breeding season. Habitat fragmentation, conflicts with human activities, and disturbance caused by human presence are among the main threats facing some populations.
IUCN RED LIST
The IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) classifies living species according to criteria that take into account the level of threat of extinction: the Red List is an indispensable tool for coordinating nature conservation actions, a true barometer of the health of our planet.
