Donkey
Equus asinus
The Donkey lives in small social groups and forms strong bonds with other individuals. Thanks to its sure-footed gait and exceptionally tough hooves, it can move confidently across rocky and uneven terrain. Descended from the African Wild Ass, it retains adaptations to arid environments, where it can survive on sparse vegetation and with only occasional access to water.
Domestication first happened in Africa. Now, it is bred all over the world.

Fun Fact
AS STUBBORN AS A DONKEY
This Italian saying comes from the belief that donkeys stop and refuse to move forward while walking.
In reality, this is not stubbornness but caution and careful judgment.
If a donkey senses a possible threat, it will think before moving.
